Preserving a Legacy
For over 100 years, The Inn at Rancho Santa Fe has stood as a peaceful haven in the heart of one of Southern California’s most storied communities. Originally designed by acclaimed architect Lilian Rice and opened in 1923, the Inn has welcomed generations of guests seeking quiet elegance, timeless charm, and the spirit of authentic hospitality.
In 2025, we proudly continue the multi-year revitalization honoring The Inn’s rich architectural heritage. This thoughtful restoration includes enhancements to our historic guest cottages, preservation of original Spanish Revival elements, and renewed attention to the grounds and gathering spaces that have long defined The Inn’s unique character.
Historic Preservation Fund
To ensure our historic property continues to thrive for future generations, we’ve established a Historic Preservation Fund. Funds raised help support projects such as restoration of historic guest rooms and cottages; preservation of original architectural details and landscaping, and enhancements to signature gathering spaces and public areas.
